Our Products & Texas Cottage Food Law
Kiruna Brew produces homemade craft ginger beer (Kryddöl) in a private home kitchen under Texas Cottage Food Law.
Our kitchen is not licensed or inspected by any government health department the way commercial food facilities are.
All of our products carry the required label statement:
“THIS PRODUCT WAS PRODUCED IN A PRIVATE RESIDENCE THAT IS NOT
SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENTAL LICENSING OR INSPECTION.”
Our ginger beer is a non-alcoholic fermented beverage. We follow safe production practices for fermented products, including pH control.
What this means for you as a customer:
• These are small-batch, homemade products. Natural variations in flavor, carbonation level, appearance, and texture are normal and expected.
• Our ginger beer is carbonated and fermented — store bottles upright in a cool place and handle carefully to avoid excessive pressure buildup.
• Always check the ingredients and allergen information before purchasing. Reach out to us with any questions.
• For orders placed online, Texas law requires us to deliver personally (by Kiruna Brew or a household member/employee). We do not ship cottage food products via standard carriers like USPS, UPS, or FedEx.
By placing an order or accepting delivery, you acknowledge and agree that:
• You understand these are homemade fermented products with the characteristics described above.
• You are responsible for inspecting the product upon receipt and storing/handling it properly afterward.
• You will consume the product within recommended timeframes.
• We are not responsible for any issues resulting from improper storage, handling after delivery, consumption past recommended dates, or individual allergies/sensitivities (beyond what we clearly disclose on labels and our site).
Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers
We take pride in making high-quality homemade products safely and in full compliance with Texas cottage food rules.
However, to the fullest extent permitted by Texas law:
• Our products and services are provided “as is.”
• We are only responsible for damages directly caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost profits or emotional distress).
• We are not liable for problems caused by third parties, including Shopify (our store platform), payment processors, or any delivery issues outside our direct control.
• Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the specific product involved.
• You assume the normal risks associated with enjoying homemade fermented beverages.
These limitations are a key part of our ability to offer homemade products directly to customers.
Privacy Summary
We collect basic information needed to process your orders and provide good service: your name, shipping/billing address, email, phone (if provided), order history, and basic device/browser information when you visit our site.
We use Shopify to power our online store. Your information is shared with Shopify and its service providers to fulfill orders and run the store securely.
We do not sell your personal information.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information (subject to legal requirements).
Marketing emails include an easy unsubscribe link.

Orders, Returns & General Information
• All orders are subject to acceptance. We may limit or cancel orders for any reason (including suspected issues or product availability).

• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
