Kryddöl cocktail mixers

Need a ginger beer cocktail that doesn’t taste like candy soda? Kryddöl is honey-fermented ginger beer with real bite—it holds up next to vodka, rum, and aquavit. Below: Moscow mule, Dark ’n Stormy, a hot toddy, and a ginger ale–style cooler. Keep a ½ gallon growler cold.


Moscow mule (aquavit / Nordic)

Classic Moscow mule structure—spirit, lime, ginger beer—with aquavit instead of vodka. Caraway and dill sit well on honey heat. One of the best ginger beer for Moscow mule swaps if you want Nordic spice.

Ingredients (1)

  • 2 oz aquavit
  • 4–6 oz very cold Kryddöl
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • Ice · copper mug or highball glass
  • Lime; mint or pinch of cardamom

Method

  1. Ice the mug.
  2. Add aquavit and lime.
  3. Top with Kryddöl; stir gently.
  4. Garnish. Serve now.

Optional: ½ oz elderflower liqueur for floral lift.


Classic Moscow mule (vodka)

Vodka mule, richer mixer. Same skeleton as any solid mule recipe.

Ingredients (1)

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 4–6 oz very cold Kryddöl
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • Ice · lime + thin fresh ginger

Method

  1. Ice the mug.
  2. Vodka and lime in.
  3. Top with Kryddöl; stir gently.

Dark and stormy

Dark and stormy recipe shape: dark rum, lime, ginger beer. We add a pinch of cinnamon or allspice.

Ingredients (1)

  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 5 oz very cold Kryddöl
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon or allspice
  • Ice · lime + cinnamon stick

Method

  1. Ice a highball or rocks glass.
  2. Add rum, lime, and spice.
  3. Top with Kryddöl; stir gently.
  4. Garnish.

Cleaner: skip dry spice—rum, lime, Kryddöl, garnish only.


Hot toddy with ginger beer

Cold-weather hot toddy ginger beer build. Warm gently—don’t boil.

Ingredients (1)

  • 6 oz Kryddöl
  • 1.5 oz aquavit or whiskey
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 3 cardamom pods, crushed · 1 cinnamon stick · 2 cloves
  • Lemon slice

Method

  1. Warm Kryddöl to about 140–160°F (hot, not simmering).
  2. Add spirit, lemon, honey, spices; stir until honey dissolves.
  3. Steep 1–2 minutes; strain whole spices if you want a cleaner mug.
  4. Garnish; serve hot. Fizz mostly goes—that’s fine for a toddy.

Ginger ale–style cooler (no spirit)

When you want a ginger ale substitute with more heat: chill Kryddöl, light sugar, sparkling water.

Ingredients (1)

  • 8 oz chilled Kryddöl
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1–2 oz cold sparkling water
  • Ice · lemon or lime · mint

Method

  1. Stir sugar into Kryddöl until dissolved.
  2. Ice a glass; pour; top with sparkling water.
  3. Citrus and mint.
