A solid highball recipe is spirit + long mixer + ice. Most bury the mixer. This one doesn’t: rum and ginger beer with Kryddöl up front—a spicy cocktail recipe with honey heat, cold fizz, and lemon oil on top.
Rum highball ingredients (1 serving)
- 3 oz chilled Kryddöl (honey-fermented ginger beer)
- 1 oz light rum
- Ice
- Lemon peel
Method
- Fill a tall glass with ice.
- Pour the rum over the ice.
- Top with Kryddöl.
- Stir once. Express the lemon peel over the drink and drop it in.
Serve cold. More ginger beer cocktail builds: mixers hub.
Variations
- No rum: ice, 3 oz Kryddöl, lemon peel.
- Longer drink: after Kryddöl, add 1 oz cold sparkling water, then garnish.
Vs a mule: softer citrus, taller glass. Moscow mule recipe is lime-forward. Stock: growler.
